Case Manager 

Job description:

The Case Manager/Prior Authorization Specialist is responsible for performing intake on prior authorizations for patient procedural orders. Case Managers will work cases through the authorization process with insurance and commercial payers.

Responsibilities:

  • Review chart documentation to ensure the patient meets medical necessity guidelines

  • Prioritize incoming authorization requests according to urgency

  • Obtain authorization via a payer website or by phone and follow up regularly on pending cases

  • Maintain individual payer files to include up to date requirements needed to successfully obtain authorizations

  • Initiate appeals for denied authorizations

  • Responds to clinic questions regarding payer medical policy guidelines

  • Confirm accuracy of CPT and ICD-10 diagnoses in the procedure order

  • Contact patients to discuss authorization status

  • Other duties as assigned

  • Candidate must be willing to travel between Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties

Ability, Knowledge, Skills:

  • Knowledge of procedure authorization and its direct impact on the practice’s revenue cycle

  • Understanding of payer medical policy guidelines while utilizing these guidelines to manage authorizations effectively

  • Proficient use of CPT and ICD-10 codes

  • Excellent computer skills including Excel, Word, and Internet use

  • Detail oriented with above average organizational skills

  • Candidate plans and prioritizes meeting deadlines

  • Excellent customer service skills; communicate clearly and effectively

  • Ability to multitask and remain focused while managing a high-volume, time-sensitive workload.

Intake Coordinator 

Work Location:

 In person (Delray, Miami and Weston locations)

Job description

The Intake Coordinator will be the first point of contact for clients, handling patient intake, and ensuring deadlines are met, The Intake Coordinator will follow intake processes by coordinating patient admissions, verifying insurance and managing incoming referrals. Intake Coordinators lead the process from initial phone call to scheduling services while delivering the highest customer service standards.


Responsibilities

  • Performs the registration, receptionist, and secretarial duties in the medical office

  • Validates completeness and accuracy of patients’ eligibility and medical documentation

  • Functions as the center communication source in this center, dealing directly with both patients and medical staff

  • Responsible for administrative data entries into EMR system, as well as various tasks pertaining to the coordination  of Medical Services

  • Assist patients with questions and/or concerns

  • Review schedules regularly for maximum scheduling efficiency

  • Updates the patient’s demographic in the agency’s data systems. 

  • Ensures photo ID and insurance card are scanned for all patients. 

  • Ensures that all forms are signed and scanned into electronic health records 

  • Responsible for contacting patients to discuss benefit coverage, appointment details, etc.

  • Communicates a dedication to serving all internal and external customers to include, but not limited to, the medical staff, physician office personnel, patients, and all hospital personnel

  • Maintains high professional and ethical standards as evidenced by successful completion of core competencies, clinical competencies, and behavior standards.

  • Understands that health care delivery is continually evolving, and departmental needs and goals are subject to change. Responsibilities may be expanded or restricted at the discretion of management

Minimum Requirements

o Medical office experience required

o Familiarity with medical office terminology and systems

o Bilingual Spanish Mandatory

o 2-3 years of experience preferred

Infusion Nurse


Infusion Registered Nurse Job description:

The Infusion Nurse reports to the Nursing Manager and is responsible for providing clinical services. The infusion nurse is responsible for the quality and adequacy of infusion services provided. Administers clinical care, documents in MAR, and follows up with the care plan for treatments. Keeps the DON, physician and other personnel informed of changes to client’s condition. 

Infusion Registered Nurse Qualifications:

  • Infusion nurse with current unencumbered licensure to practice professional nursing in the state of practice 

  • Must have graduated from an accredited Nursing program. Minimum of associate’s degree in nursing. Preferred BSN

  • Minimum of five (5) years of documented experience required. Three (3) to five (5) years of clinical experience with one (1) year experience in infusion care 

  • REQUIRED: Administer medications, reconstitute medication, dosage calculations, IV insertion, and port access 

  • Experience with IV insertion expert level 

  • Pediatric and Geriatric experience

  • Experience with electronic charting systems

  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to deal tactfully with clients, staff, and the community in a kind compassionate manner 

  • Understands regulatory compliance, federal regulations including but not limited to OSHA, HIPAA

  • Position includes tasks that have the potential for exposure to blood and other potentially infectious material (OPIM) such as body fluids/tissues

  • Comply with accepted professional standards of practice

  • Must have valid and current CPR certification card

Infusion Registered Nurse Physical Requirements:

The Infusion Nurse must be able to stand walk, squat, bend, kneel, reach, twist, push and pull. Varied assistance is required depending on the ability of the client. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds. Must have reliable transportation.

Medical Billing Specialist

Job description

We are seeking a knowledgeable Medical Billing Specialist to join our team where your skills will contribute significantly to the efficiency of our healthcare services. In this role, you will be responsible for managing patient accounts, processing claim denials and ensuring accurate billing of rendered services. The ideal candidate for this position can work independently or as a team member, fast learner and detail oriented.

Duties

  • Review and analyze claims to ensure they are accurately sent to insurance companies for primary and secondary claims, as well as co-pay assistance

  • Provide timely and detailed follow-up on aging and/or unpaid claims

  • Identify outstanding payments and take necessary measures to obtain the proper payment

  • Process strong appeals for denied claims 

  • Utilize various billing systems to enter data accurately and efficiently

  • Identify trends, and carrier issues relating to billing and reimbursements and report to management

  • Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations, coding practices, and insurance policies to ensure compliance

  • Timely review and response of correspondence

  • Post payments to the proper accounts with accuracy

  • Assist in resolving any issues related to denied claims or payment discrepancies through effective communication with payers

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of experience in billing and posting in healthcare

  • High school diploma required; secondary education preferred

  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively

  • Proficiency in using EHR systems, billing software, HIPAA, and other critical governmental regulations

  • Understanding of ICD-10, CPT coding guidelines and CMS-1500 submission

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team within a fast-paced office environment

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 

  • Working knowledge of QuickBooks is preferred
